The Emerald Woods offers a purely a la carte model of options for weddings as well as other functions.

• Included:
  • a historic backdrop of a beautiful approximately 200 year old Greek Revival home/former plantation house;
  • beautiful gardens featuring roses, dahlias, hydrangea, hibiscus, lilies, peonies, Japanese maples, dappled willow trees, dogwoods, ornamental cherry trees, red buds, tulips, calla lilies, irises, etc. depending on the time of year and weather;
  •  ample privacy in a very lush environment;
  • a circular Pennsylvania blue stone patio surrounded by roses and hydrangea and other flowers dependent on the season and weather;
  • ​a custom swing for two placed by the main gardens; 
  • two decks that are approximately 16 x 16 feet;
  • 200 amps of electricity separate from the house close to the two decks and a large open space on the land;
  • the sound of large resonant Corinthian bell chimes at the front patio;
  • use of the lower level bathroom;
  • Starlink internet which is strongest at the front patio;
  • 20 parking spots (an additional 20 spots are available at a rate of $6.00 per car).

 

• The cost of renting the venue is based on a client's needs and can be considerably more affordable than most venues.
  • The base cost is $500 for three hours;
  • each additional hour is billed at $100 per hour, up to a maximum of 11 hours per day;
  • a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to book the space.  Until the deposit is paid, the space is not booked;
  • the remaining balance, plus a $500 security deposit, are required 60 days prior to the event;
  • the security deposit is refundable as long as the grounds and property of The Emerald Woods are left in good condition;
  • venue renters are required to arrange to clean up the rental space between 9 am and 11 am the day following the event.  If the space is not clean by this time, The Emerald Woods will have its own cleaners clean the space at a rate of $50 an hour to be taken from the security deposit.  Clean is defined as there are no indicators that an event has taken place -- i.e. garbage has been removed, no damage to the property, decorations removed, etc.

Additional Notes:

• ​The Emerald Woods does not provide a tent, tables, linens or chairs or decor, etc.  We can provide you with the names of trusted vendors.  
• It is very recommended that you use a wedding planner or at the least, a day of coordinator.  It is very easy to think this will be simple but it is not and your day should be spent focusing on yourselves and your guests and not the details of organizing, etc.
• Use of a bartender will require a licensed NC bartender and paperwork completed to be in compliance with state requirements which do not seem to be very challenging.
• Insurance will be required in the event that any harm is done to the property or in the case that a guest might encounter harm in the context of the wedding.
